LARPY (operated by LARPY, “we,” “us”)
1. What This Policy Covers
This policy explains what information we collect when you use larpyhq.com and the LARPY service, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using LARPY you agree to this policy.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us:
- Account details: name, email address, and business name
- Uploaded photographs of yourself (“Source Photos”)
- Payment information, processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers
- Communications you send us (email, DMs, application forms)
Information created by the service:
- AI-generated images produced from your Source Photos (“Generated Images”)
- Our hosting provider collects standard server logs (IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and performance purposes.
3. Face and Likeness Data
Source Photos contain images of your face. We treat this as sensitive data:
- We collect and process Source Photos only to generate your requested images and deliver the service.
- We do not use your face to train AI models, do not sell or license your photos or likeness to anyone, and do not use your images in our own marketing without your separate written permission.
- By uploading a Source Photo, you consent to this processing. You warrant that every face you upload is your own or that of an adult who has given you permission (see our Terms of Service).
- Processing is performed in part by third-party AI providers (see Section 5).
If you are a resident of a state with biometric privacy laws (including Illinois, Texas, or Washington), this section together with your upload action constitutes our notice and your consent to the collection and processing described here. You may withdraw consent at any time by requesting deletion (Section 7).
4. How We Use Information
- To provide the service: generating, storing, and delivering your images
- To bill you and manage your subscription
- To respond to support requests
- To improve the service using aggregate, de-identified usage data
- To send service updates; marketing emails only with your consent and always with an unsubscribe option
We do not sell personal information.
5. Third Parties We Share Data With
We share data only with providers necessary to run the service:
- AI image generation: OpenAI — your Source Photos are transmitted to generate images, subject to their data policies
- Hosting: Vercel
- Payments: Stripe
- Analytics: We do not use third-party analytics.
- Email: Namecheap (email forwarding) and Google (Gmail)
Each provider receives only what it needs. We may also disclose information if required by law.
6. Data Retention
- Source Photos: deleted from our systems within 30 days of upload unless you are an active subscriber, in which case they are retained for the duration of your subscription to fulfill ongoing deliveries, then deleted within 30 days of cancellation.
- Generated Images: retained while your account is active and deleted within 7 days of account closure, except copies you have already downloaded (which are yours).
- Account and billing records: retained as required for tax and legal purposes.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You may at any time:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your Source Photos, Generated Images, or entire account
- Correct inaccurate account information
- Opt out of marketing emails
To exercise any of these, email hello@larpyhq.com. We respond within 30 days. Deletion requests for Source Photos are honored within 7 days.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encrypted transmission, access controls) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; you use the service at your own risk, and we will notify you of any breach affecting your data as required by law.
9. Age Requirement
LARPY is for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and photos of minors are prohibited (see Content & Likeness Policy). If we learn a minor's data has been uploaded, we delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced by email or a site notice. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
